Ok so I was checking the water pump belt I changed the other day and the belt must be rubbing the wrong way.in the pic you can see the top outer edge is white.I doubled checked the belt is on the pulleys right.when I changed the belt I took the tensioner pulley off.when tightening the tensioner pulley does it have to be adjusted ? The belt I used was from napa.also i'm trying to check my coolant mix with the floating disc thing, are these things accurate? Also my coolant looks more watery Color with a light orange color .

Re: Hot Northstar - Please help !

The white you see is the edge of the Kevlar braid molded into the belt - that braid is what does the work, not the rubber. Normal. If the belt is in the correct 3 grooves on the drive pulley, tensioner pulley, and water pump pulley then it's OK. The tensioner is spring loaded and totally self-adjusting.

Tensioner pictures and notes in my albums............I said that earlier.........

So how important is the air deflector that goes under the radiator ,I can save a few dollar and order from Chris and wait for it to get here I can go to the dealer and pay full price and have it on today .I know its part of the cooling system but never noticed it doing this last year.its going to be in the 100's again the next few days.

Use the ones i sent in the PM 14093088 ... might as well just go to the nearest dealer

you can probably get similar (generic) ones cheaper at any old parts store also

Re: Hot Northstar - Please help !

it does show 15 of #14093088 but also 4 of #11518017

the second number is basically a bit beefier when it's not expanded so it would go into a larger hole

One or two missing pins won't matter a bit. I think I have two missing.

There are two that go in sideways where it molds around the cradle frame.
