I Was excited to get a little lift off the ground when getting these installed, but this is way too high. Will it settle more than an inch soon?
that's definitely not right!
who ordered the parts
who installed the parts
did you also have the springs replaced
I ordered from suncore, my mechanic set it up, and he said that does seem a bit high.
Here is the part, im wonder if suncore just isnt the right fit?
The springs are newer than the old set, so I assumed it would give it that lift, but not that much.
Should've went OEM
One possible solution which will be labor intensive (as in $$).
IF the shop that did the work still has your original struts laying off in a corner somewhere, you could have them remove your "old" original springs and install those springs on the Suncore struts.
Did I say labor intensive?
Your choice of suspension replacement parts was probably driven by cost. But ---- installing "cheap" aftermarket replacement parts negates the integrated suspension design that is part of making a STS what it is.
That is true is the same exact struts are used but remember the front springs are mounted on the struts thus depending on the position of the mounting points, is say that bottom spring bracket is a bit higher than the OEM position then you just raised your car using the same springs.Quote:
Springs are the key to designed ride height.
Wow dude, you could have just bought the Monroe replacements off Amazon for about $100 total less and it would have been perfect. I just got them installed and no issues. Are you getting suspension codes? Are those gold bars the resistors to prevent codes?
351 for the LF, part #40021
355 for the RF, part #40022
Yikes! - on the bright side I think you figured out how to stuff 28s in our cars... On the front at least.
I was thinking he could stuff some mudders under there now myself....
I did ask about using the older springs but they thought, he would still have a hard hit and bounce. Mechanic is a good friend and wants to make these work, just needs some suggestions. If suncore tech help doesnt work, Im gong to just sent them back and say this is the wrong part for this car.
Then need another provider.
They make good stuff. I think there's a promo/rebate going on now, as well...
Looks at my post #7
