2000 SLS in my driveway.jpg this was taken a couple of years ago before we took it up to Jake at Northstar Performance. That was a great trip! My SLS was repaired and I made a new friend. Can't ask for more than that. She now has 117,000+ miles on her and still rides like a dream. A new Magnaflow exhaust last spring lets folks know we mean business.

Cool Re: I'm showing you my Eldo, now you show us yours (Sevilles too!) :)

Spotted an ETC across the Discount Tire Store parking lot yesterday. From a distance I thought it was a Collector Series like mine. Turned out to be a pearl white ETC, not an Alpine White ECS. Should have picked up on the different wheels right away even from a distance. Had to snap a few quick cell phone pics for comparison purposes.

max. I had a '97 White Diamond SLS a while ago. Though mine had the same wheels, but painted (which I think I prefer).

Do some reading here, and you'll find out there're no performance parts available for your car. The SLS has the economy 3.11 final drive ratio anyway. I'd suggest keeping the car clean and maintained, and just enjoying it as is.

And there is another one too! What are the chances of that happening?

Re: I'm showing you my Eldorado/Seville, now show us yours

    Hi,

I just introduced myself in the Welcome Forum, but here's some of the same stuff just to introduce myself:

I'm a longtime car guy but first-time Cadillac owner; my preferences tend to run towards fast wagons, 1980s sports coupes, and big 1970s American barges, with a side helping of basic 4X4s (Jeep Wagoneers, IH Scouts, K5 Blazers), but ultimately I like a little bit of everything. I used to run Amazon's Car Lust blog, where for several years I filled up the Internet with descriptions of all the weird cars I want to own.

I've always liked Cadillacs; I have a soft spot in my heart for GM products, and even during the 1980s Cadillac seemed like a cut above - and I love the new Art and Science cars. My dream car at this moment would probably be a CTS-V wagon.

This weekend I bought a 1977 Cadillac Eldorado and am completely in love with it. It has only 36,000 miles on it, has always been garaged, and is in near-new condition both inside and out. You could just about eat off the engine, and it drives tight and new. In terms of condition, it's the nicest car I've ever owned, and it delivers the absolute perfect 1970s car experience. I'm not bragging - I had nothing to do with how nice it is. I'm just totally smitten. My daughter has named it "Cloud" because that's how it rides.

    Cheers,
    Chris Hafner

Re: I'm showing you my Eldorado/Seville, now show us yours

76 Cadillac Eldorado.jpgWell, lots of very nice and much newer cars here than my old bomb. But that will be changing over the next year or 2, as I finally fix it up after all those years of saying "I'm going to fix it up someday." THAT DAY HAS ARRIVED!!
I've owned it since 2004, when I bought if for $500. Yep, one dollar per cubic inch. Always wanted the 500. Runs and drives very nice, not so good on gas though. Was my daily driver until 2010, and has been parked since.
I'm going to start with basic stuff, mainly transmission slipping issues. Sometimes I have to rev it up before it'll move. Any ideas on what's up?
Then going to fix the hood, which doesn't close right. Hinges are sprung I think. Where do I find those?
Any ideas on why my front fenders are a slightly different color than the rest of the car? Were they replaced some time in the past? Had a guy look at it once and he said no, they were original, but that doesn't make any sense.
I don't plan on a restoration, just make it solid, reliable, and a good driver. Will improve the motor considerably. 190 HP just ain't going to cut it. Although it will spin the front tires (well, one of them) if I try hard enough. Plenty of torque for sure.
Ultimate goal is to run for fun at drag races, Silver State Challenge in Nevada (wouldn't that be a kick!), various things like that. Never will be able to handle worth a darn, way too heavy, but for straight line stuff should be very cool. Can't wait to show those rice rocket guys what a REAL front wheel drive car is all about!!

    Cool Midnite Rider...

Gassed her up tonight in preparation for a road trip to the Texas Hill Country early in the morning. Decided to snap a quick cell phone shot under the lights. Looking so good that when I leave I'm gonna crank up the Bose CD playing Steve Miller's "Jet Airliner" at max decibels to make everything alright...
    Best,
    Ron

    My 96 Eldorado ETC.
Got her for 1500. Peanut butter interior. Pics are before the ******* drunk driver swerved off the opposite side of the road and hit me head on the hood in a SUV. Of course his SUV barely had any visible damage. My hoods crunched in, the latch broke (Takes a lot of messing with lifting to open the hood) the grill is in four pieces. Luckily no engine damage or radiator. Still was terrible. Put about $700 into her from the start, Now I just need a new hood and grill and right headlight (Still works, taped over, glass broken)
She still runs smooth and is a work in progress to get her to my standard of perfection
