No, car carrier to Ohio, not THAT expensive.

Why is it going onto a flat bed?... East Boston is an island, you get here through a tunnel or over a bridge, the streets are small. The transport company knew all of this, and they knew the car couldn't move under its own power.......so they sent a 60 foot trailer.

To make a long story short, me and the driver split the bill to tow the car 3 miles to the truck. We're going to ask to be reimbursed by the shipping company.

That'll happen after almost a year without electrical power and a trunk full of most of the parts that belong under the hood, minus the long block and transmission.

I just heard on the radio that kids get $25 a week to go to school in Ohio. Find out if that's true if you don't mind. I'd love to move there to go to school if it's true!

I haven't updated anyone (publicly) since the whole fiasco with getting an engine from Jake.

I needed an engine, I wanted it to be studded, I was ONLY going to deal with someone who had done the job before. TPs mechanic in Ohio has done several stud jobs, his price was good. He found me a used engine, gave it a thorough inspection, resealed and studded it.

The plan was to have the new engine shipped here, to the shop that botched the stud job, who was going to install it at a discount. This had been the plan since the deal with Jake fell through........

Some of you will remember that a few months back, I had to have the car towed back home, because the land owner where the shop is located wanted it gone until an engine was ready. All of my loose parts were placed in the trunk, and the car came home.

When I called the shop to tell them the engine would be ready soon, I'm told there was a problem. Before the head mechanic packed my parts in the trunk, he told the shop owner that if it wasn't first organized and labeled, he wouldn't be able to reassemble the car....The shop owner took it upon himself to decide I WASN'T going to repair the car, and told him to just bag the hardware and assorted small parts, and send the car out the door. Leaving me with a dusey of an automotive puzzle.

NOBODY wanted to even consider the job, so I was stuck with an engine, an empty engine compartment, and 2 boxes of metal brain teasers. I called TPs mechanic and explained the situation, and he told me he'd have no problem taking the job on. And again, his estimate was fair.

The car arrived in Wickliffe today, safe and sound at his shop.

Did he give you a timeline on getting it back? Must feel good to have that to look forward to.

No, but I don't expect it to take all that long.

I haven't driven the car since March 29th of last year, I literally forget what it feels like, what it sounds like, what it smells like. Getting it back will feel like getting a new car again. I am glad I'm getting it back soon, its been a hellish nightmare from the get go.

I sincerely appreciate that. I wish I had a garage, this would have been done within a week. I've never had good luck, but I've NEVER had to deal with such a group of incompetend people and businesses as I have had to durring this particular ordeal.

Did I forget to mention that the truck carrying the replacement engine to the shop to get studded got into an accident? Motor made it out alive though. (that makes 2 accidents for this engine, it came out of a flipped STS) HOPEFULLY it's had enough excitement in its life, and doesn't decide to run my car into a wall.

When I see this picture, I start to think that what Pup is doing behind the engine, or better to say, what he is doing to the engine?! And if the mechanic says there is some unknown fluid inside the engine, Pup is the person to blame.....
