Short Body Roll Call ('86 - '91 Seville & Eldorados ne only apply!)

Since an alarming amount of new short body owner are posting I think its time for a thread like this since were second in minority only to the cimmaron crowd. Post your a pic of your car, mods if any, and future plans. Hell if you a unusual colour combo or a exceptionally clean one on the streets post it.
    Before I post mine I leave you with 5 '86 - '91 facts
    1. Short Bodys were supposed to have sealed beam headlights and chrome headlight bezels
    2. Michael Jackson owned a polo green '91 Touring Coupe
    3. '92-'95 rear suspension subframe is a direct bolt on
    4. if you have a '90 - '91 (possible '86-'89) You can upgrade the front brakes to the bigger '92+
    5. There were over 100 possible colour combinations avalable for Seville Elegantes, not counting cloth top colour.

This is my '91 Polo Green STS sitting on DTS blades but I'm looking for a set of '05+ STS 17s. it has a 96 shift knob, N* STB, timing advance, and I have a flowmaster 80 in the shed waiting for it.

Here is my Crimson '91 ETC. Also have N* STB, '96 shift knob, airbox mod + K&N, switch bezels replaced with STS woodgrain ones. Also added the '99 trunk emblem

Yes their filty its been sprinkling all day

Re: Short Body Roll Call ('86 - '91 Seville & Eldorados ne only apply!)

'90 Eldorado. Medium Garnet Red with a white vinyl top. I don't take pictures of my cars unless I need to for a sales ad or something.
    185,000 miles with no mods.
Future plans: drive the wheels off of it.

This 21 year old vehicle has been the most reliable vehicle I've owned yet. Until it causes trouble, I won't be replacing it.

    '91 STS

Have an album of it here under profile and also Cardomain
No mods and unfortunately the car hasn't been out of the garage for the last 2 years. But now that I've been freshly laid off from my primary job, I've been back in the garage this week trying to get this old girl on the streets again. From what I remember last, 94-95K miles.
Future plans: Up and running hopefully next week! Headliner replacement, Bose speaker amp rebuild and finding a proper stainless steel exhaust (looking at www.waldronexhaust.com), along with repairing a couple other little things (resticking body color moldings, getting correct motor for trunk pull down, etc). I plan on keeping this car for the long haul so everything I'm looking at doing is eyed to keep the condition up and maintaining her. But man this car is difficult to work on...bolts rusted on (had to buy the gallon size PB Blaster), no room for anything but hand tools most of the time it seems and the need to remove several parts to get at the actual part that needs replacing. This car has been a challenge for sure but it still got looks, even one from some dude in a new XK8 passing me on I-75 and a little race with another guy in a new CTS...my torque got him off the line but he immediately pulled ahead a car length in. Without a doubt, the most interesting car I've owned.

^^Some really nice examples here! I always wondered how many of these ugly K-bodies were floating around here.

    Here's my glorified Buick...

    1990 Seville - Poser STS Edition w/ 84K miles.

I'm not going to sell you any drugs and I dont walk with a pimp cane. I just hate the stock grille. It screams Buick and farts Oldsmobile. So the E&G is the best of a bad situation.

    Rice:
    MSD 6A Ignition control
    Accell Super Coil
    MSD Super Conductor wires
    +4 degrees timing advance
    Ford Bosch III injectors

    Flowmaster 80 series muffler
    QTP exhaust cutout valve
    All aluminum 2 row radiator
    Stand-alone fan controls
    Adjustable vacuum modulator
    TCC disable switch

Oh, and STOCK AIR BOX AND FILTER!!!

Because it's more than good enough.

Here was my buddys '88 Biarittz he got for a damn steal with reciepts going back to 1995. every option avalable for '88 including the $1,400 Alpha Enterprises grill. Sadly this car is in the jy from he needing money to move a shame as we actually drove it there

Another buddys '90 Biarittz, stole it from a old man for a relible DD. paints F'd but the interior is mint. Had a modded airbox with a drop in filter.

That's some nasty clearcoat damage. I wonder if certain colors are more prone to that. My car is just as old as those yet only has a touch of fade beginning on the side mirrors, And Im in sunny Floriduh.

Drew, you've got garnet red too and you live in the rust belt... Hows you're paint holding up?

I used to have an ACCEL super coil on my Eldo. and it burned a big hole in my distributor cap and damaged my distributor, making it necessary to replace the whole assembly. I still have it in my trunk! I also had one on my 88 Eldo. and never had a problem. Clean looking Seville!!

Re: Short Body Roll Call ('86 - '91 Seville & Eldorados ne only apply!)

A hot ignition can cause the stock rotor button underneath the coil to overheat and melt the cap. It's recommended to swap it out with a low-resistance version. I did run a stock one for a while with no issues though.

I think the performance gain from the coil is negligible at best....

Didn't see this until now. The paint on mine was doing pretty good until 2 years ago or so. The clearcoat is getting hazy and weak (probably because I rarely wash/wax this one), but just for kicks I rubbed a section out on the trunk last year and it shined up fine. A wetsanding/buffing session would probably have it looking great, but that's not gonna happen. No problems with peeling or anything though.
