Hello
Someone on this site also asked this question but I'm not sure if it was answered.
My AC has turned itself off because it has detected less than a 1/3 charge of refrigerant. I suppose this is good and keeps the system from being damaged (I hope). Anyway, I bought a can of refrigerant, but I don't think the system is accepting the charge, I think, because the AC compressor has been turned off. I was hoping to attach the can and then reset the code, but the code is not resettable via the car's DIC. I also used my OBD-II scan tool but it can't reset (or even detect) it.
So how do I get the AC compressor to turn on so I can charge it?
Or, is this something that needs to be done in a shop? It's all of a sudden hot up here in the north-east. (went from cold spring to 90 humid degress in one week - a typical MA complaint that we really have no spring
)
Thanks for any advice.
Regards
Pete R
