I just got a 99 and I need to get a license plate mount for the front. It came from Michigan where they did not need one. The dealer wants $55 for it....I am looking at Ebay. Will another year fit other than the 99? Is it somewhat universal? Thanks!
Just carry the front plate in the trunk.
If stopped plead ignorant and show the cop the plate and point out that there is no mount on the front.
It works around my part of the world, Dallas TX. Maybe gets you a warning......
You will not believe how ugly the factory mount looks when installed on your car it was the first thing I removed when I bought mine. I would go with Newmans suggestion.
I have it in the front window right now... kinda feel like a *******. I guess if I have to put it on, I would rather have the real deal than a side mounted generic one...
Heck, I took mine off the second day I owned the car. Don't want to sell it though as the next owner may want it should I sell it.
I live in Ohio and have never had a front license plate on any of my cars for the past 30 years or so.
Only got a warning one time back in 1980. I don't drive aggressively so i don't really attract the attention of the police much though.
What Newman said... Just keep the plate in the trunk and play dumb if pulled over.
