93 Seville Radiator drain plug Coolant temp?

So after losing all of the coolant from our 93 seville when the drain plug just snapped off while on the freeway! Luckily my wife knew to pull over immediately and shut it off when the dash lit up. had it towed home. Well I got a new plug. The old one was still sitting on the frame. So thats how I knew it was broke off. Probably due to age and be PLASTIC. Getting the old stuff out and the new one in was fun due to lack of room. Doesn't seem to be any further damage. I will keep an eye on it for coolant loss on the lookout for any Head gasket issues.

    Any now for the questions.

At what temp should my cooling Fan turn on?
Mine seems to turn on around 223 Deg.

Is there a way to tell it to turn on at a slightly cooler temp.?

Is it a variable speed or does it operate at a lower RPM?
Mine seems to be low although it does cool things back down.

    Thanks Joe

Fans come on low at about 224. High about 230. Not adjustable.
