no fourth gear

Okay fellas.. I'm up here in WV, took a relatively short trip from da beach. Halfway through my trip, overdrive/4th gear pooped out. Any suggestions? The first three work perfect, but I don't want to wear third out and burn the gas.

Have you pulled the DTC's? Might find a shift solenoid listed there.

you wont wear third out man. a dude on this fourm has a 98 sts with only 3 gears.. the 4th is there but as soon as it drops in it pops out.. and he drives around in it in third, he has for quite a while actaully!
