Not sure what to replace, the last couple of times I've driven the car it seems to have gone into limp mode(i think thats what its called)it won't come out of 2nd gear. Also the speedometer goes all haywire reading 0 and sometimes reads wrong speed.

    Codes-U1016 history

P0446 is EVAP system control valve operation. Possible vacuum leak and emissions test failure. Nothing to do with the transmission.

U1016 is a loss of data communication with the PCM. If its' history, don't sweat it.

Chances are the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is failing, but that should set a code also. It's no fun to replace. www.rockauto.com. You go in through the RF wheelwell and the sensor is bolted into the top of the transmission right axle output casting.
