Red face 97 STS heater core removal Help!!

Remove this ad
I'm new to the club, and glad I found it. So many things I fix on my 97 STS are simple take off and replace. Now this summer the heater core blew... so I simply by passed it until I would need it this winter. Well here we are in winter. Does any body out there have the procedure for the removal and replacement for my 1997 Seville STS. Please!!

Re: 97 STS heater core removal Help!!

Your not gonna like this, from what I have read on this site, you will need to remove the steering wheel and dash. 5-6 hour job if you know what you are doing. I live in FL, so I decided I would go without heat...lol

search - heater core in this forum, there is good info on here.

Re: 97 STS heater core removal Help!!

I have been searching this forum and haven't found anything definitive as to specific years of car. I read one post on a 98 Deville and said it could be done through the glove box. I was hoping to find the same for the Seville.

Re: 97 STS heater core removal Help!!

Jford is right from what I have heard you can get to the heater core by removing the glovebox and a few other parts rather than removing the entire dash. This has been done on a 96 Eldo which is has pretty much the same interior as the 97 STS just with 2 less doors.

Thumbs down Re: 97 STS heater core removal Help!!

Yeah well nice try...

Tried the search for heater core and nothing comes up. I guess this site just doesn't have the knowledge for this type of issue, sounds like most of the post are more for cosmetic items. I'll keep looking for a better tech. site.
