Driver’s side window switches - Need Help

Remove this ad
Hello everyone. I need some help in regards to my driver’s side window switches. Are they suppose to light up? Mine do not but it looks like they should.

I did a search on the web-site but I could not find anything on this subject.

My car is a 2000 Eldorado ESC. The passenger side lights up just fine.

Both switches should light up in the little white area at the bottom of the switch, probably have a burned out bulb.

That's what I thought. Does anyone know how to change it?

Unfortunately the switch is NOT serviceable (at least at the point of replacing the light bulb. Test first if you have power to the connector (common issue bad contacts in the connectors).

Hey N*Caddy, how do I gain access to the switch?

First remove the bezel around the door handle (is not absolutely necessarily but is easy to remove and it helps).
Then using a plastic flat tool (metal scratches), pull the rear of the switch assembly as forward as you can and then lift it. There is a spring-loaded clip that locks the switch in place. You should be able to do-it with bare hands garbing the back edge of the switch assembly and pulling forward and UP.

Re: Driver’s side window switches - Need Help

Unfortunately that is a 2002 STS and completely different switch assembly.
The heated seats buttons and track and PRND321 lights are indeed serviceable (actually heated seats not, that would classify as a switch rebuild).
Here is my interior (all replaced with white LED).
