97 SLS - CD Magazine Stuck

My 1997 Caddy Seville SLS has the stock 12 disc cd changer in it, but, the issue is, the CD magazine is stuck and wont come out from the unit. Any ideas on how to remove it without damaging anything?

Re: 97 SLS - CD Magazine Stuck

Open the CD changer door and on the upper left corner locate a small hole, large enough to fit a paper clip inside. Inside the hole is the reset button (can be pushed with a paper clip). If that doesn't work then you have to remove the CD changer and open the case (some 5-6 small Philips head screws) in order to access the magazine and clear the jam (one of the trays likely got stuck). The black top cover with the sides comes out once the back screws are out. Also in the process the small black box in the back (where the harness connects to) will come out (that comes out first) and underneath you will see the last screw holding the cover, is only about 1h work.
Under NO circumstance force the magazine out or insert screwdrivers and such in or you bend the loading mechanism, you might not believe but lots of people do that (for some reason I don’t understand) I have seen them damaged after. This is the number one failure cause; the other is water intrusion, when you open the whet trunk lid the water drips from the right corner exactly on top of the CD changer.
