i keep getting service stability sys here and there im just curious could this code be the couse of it plus there is a noise coming from my steering wheel when i turn i talked to a mechanic he said that a part inside the steering wheel is going bad can this couse the service stability sys too ?


C1287 - Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction - history

The steering wheel position sensor/rate sensor wraps around the base of the steering column and causes trouble once in a while. There are three variations, so you need to know which one is in there before getting a replacement.

The noise from inside (?) the steering wheel is something else. Either intermediate steering shaft, front strut, wheel hub capsule, tie rod, or steering rack.

The DIC message "service stability system" is a warning, not a code ----- Read the entire sticky thread at the top of the Seville thread page titled "How to pull codes". Practice, then come back with the P,B,C, and U codes, whether they are Current or History, and their definitions from the code lists accessed from the thread. It's all built into your car - you don't need anything else except a pencil and paper.

TTM U1016 - Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM
U1016 - Loss of Communications with PCM

I ONLY HAVE ONE U1016 CODE BUT I DONT KNOW WHICH MEANING I NEED SENSE THERE ARE TWO MEANING FOR THIS CODE

The only code that could be associated with stability messages is that steering rate sensor.

Those U codes come and go, so don't sweat them. The KAM codes come and go, also.

Do you have trouble with your window controls - those B codes........

Be advised that a code will stay Current if the fault occurs again within 3 start-run cycles. A code will go to History after 3 "no fault" cycles, and will completely disappear after 40 or 50 (depending on code) "no fault" cycles.

i think my back windows i can click one time and have them go all the way down but to get them up i have to keep my hand on the button maybe thats the b3832 b3833 codes

the P0463 is a code i had with my old fuel pump which i changed like 5 days ago i believe this is solved the needle doesnt play anymore when under half a tank

some of the u codes can be the couse of me taking the negative out of the battery to do work on the car i think ???

All 4 windows in your car have express down. Only the front windows express up. So yours are working fine. Codes C1287 and C1288 is the steering wheel position sensor. You will continually get the Service Stability System message until you have the sensor replaced.
