 2001 Eldorado Onstar Control Module location
Forgive me if this has been asked before but I am trying to locate the Onstar control module in my 2001 ETC so that I can put in a new BlueStar unit... going off info for the Seville I believe this is in the trunk. Removing the rear trunk liner and undoing four nuts and one plastic guard gets me to two components - one fairly flat module with rounded edges that uses a 27-pin data bus cable and another, which uses both blue and red harnesses. Neither modules are clearly marked. However, I can seem to tell that both the blue and red harnesses do not seem to be the right type to mate to the BlueStar Class 2 data connector...
Underneath these components is another plastic guard which seems to hide a second layer of electronics modules. Is the OnStar control behind this, and if so, how do I remove it? It looks like there are two difficult-to-access bolts in the corners and maybe some plastic clips, but any more specific help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
