New 95 STS owner with Code ?

I am a new 95 STS owner. Got the car from my mother-in-law with 109k miles. Just had the 100K tune-up done. Trying to learn about the codes, etc. Should I just erase them all and start from Scratch? What do the PCM numbers mean? Is there a site that explains these numbers in addition to the codes? Thank you for the help. I'm impressed by the number of Caddy fanatics. Pretty cool.

The site in the thread at the top of the page - "How to pull codes" - has another link to obd1 (OnBoard Diagnostics protocol 1) which defines all the alphanumeric codes.

Don't clear anything yet: figure out what you have - most codes come and go like the wind, so don't sweat it. Also, if you clear the PCM codes just before an emissions test the car will fail because the drivetrain controls need time to reset and present the emissions test set with a "Ready" code - that takes a week or more of normal driving after a code reset.

Thanks for the info. I've finally cleared all the codes and will recheck later this month to see if there are any reoccurrences. Thanks for your help.
