98 seville temp sending unit

Remove this ad
While looking at the a/c, something "blew out" near the radiatior, top left as I'm looking into the engine compartment. It doesn't seem to be an a/c component, and since my temp gauge now reads zero, i figure it's the sending unit. Nothuing seems to be leaking.
However, I can't quite pin it down, and can't find the part listed in the parts manual or sites like autozone.
Can anybody clue me in? Thanks.

Re: 98 seville temp sending unit

I'm not sure exactly what part it was.
I'm just making the assumption it's the sending unit, 'cuz of the current reading of zero, and also it had been reading low for a while (around 3/8 instead of 1/2).
But I can't even find a sending unit listed anywhere, so I don't know what to look for either.
I might be able to get a picture of the general area posted tomorrow.

Thanks for all your help ranger.

Update your profile with the "user cp" up in the blue bar. It sure helps to know what car, year and model to look at - it makes a BIG difference !!

Re: 98 seville temp sending unit

Updated as requested, thanks for the reminder.
After resetting the codes, temp gauge is back to normal. very odd.
I think the 'blowout' was from too much freon, which is still being investigated, will update in the a/c not cool enough thread.

Re: 98 seville temp sending unit

Turns out the temp gauge is intermittent. I'm still not sure where to find the sending unit, so if anyone knows where to look that would be great, thanks.
