how true is it that there is a sensor on the tranny that won't let the car run it makes it stall

The TCC system (Torque Convertor Clutch) is a sort of "5th" gear in that it uses transmission fluid pressure to lock the input and output shafts of the TC in order to prevent that last 300 rpm of slip. If the TCC solenoid craps out it sets a code (DTC) in your OnBoard Diagnostic system. If the fault persists the TC is locked, so when you slow down it's sort of like coming to a stop without pushing in on the (manual transmission) clutch. The car stalls. Fluid pressure drops, and the TCC drops out until the next time.......read up on how to pull your own DTC OBD-II codes from the car's built in system. Use the same link to decipher the code meanings, and make sure to note whether they are Current or History.

have worked on tons of cad 4t80 never seen torque converter sol. cause a stall problem. but faulty converter
