I checked and apparently they have two kind of mats, 2 pounds per square yard and 3 pounds per square yard.
I was curious what the difference would be between the two (other than $100), looks like it will cost me between $200 and $300 + shipping depending on the mat.
So anybody had experience with these floor mats (maybe some pictures)?
Another question, what’s the fastening system that comes with these mats I can see any in my car? And the cheap stuff I have in shifts all over the floor.
Any other recommendations, considerations?
Thank you! |

They are done in an embroidery style apparently no longer available: The silver Cadillac wreath/crest with STS in red block letters underneath and the stock edge trim. In neutral shale they're really good looking.
The rear corners of the front mats have a grommet inserted. They are supplied with two pair of hooked plastic fixtures which actually thread into the floor carpet, and the front mats DO NOT MOVE. You place the mats, mark the grommet holes on the carpet, and literally screw the retainers in. Simply lift the mat off the retainers to clean and vacuum. Even a car wash attendant can do it.
You can unscrew the retainers, fluff the carpet, and no trace of holes if you need to. |

I was also referring to the #2 option (non-Berber) but among this you have 2 further options, regular and thicker/heavier.
In fact I was thinking to go with the thicker one and get one set of protector transparent mats (for the winter).
I see the transparent ones can only be purchased as a set (2 or 4 pieces), I only need one for the driver’s side since I rarely have passengers in my car. So I guess I will get the 2 sets and put one in the trunk over the spare wheel, if I know I will have a passenger I will use-it. Last week I had somebody in the car and guess what was left on my cheap floor mat from his souls…some chewing gum…could be worst could be on the car’s carpet.
I guess I’m going with the Cadillac emblem with crest (the one looking like my avatar) and with the Cadillac text underneath. Since my external emblems are gold plated I guess the thread color must be gold or it makes no sense.

I think I paid $120 for the same lloyd mats, including the emblems and mounts. |

The original ones I received were larger than required (by about 10%) for the rear the front ones fit just prefect from the beginning. I was surprised the supplier offered to sent me another set for the rear ones although I did not specifically asked (it was more like “by the way…”). So they were very kind to remanufacture another set of rear floor mats per my dimensions and now everything fits perfectly now.
Here are some pictures:
The emblems and the text are some how larger than I would have expected but is pretty much a subjective matter, maybe somebody would have liked them larger, is just a matter of taste. I am pretty happy with the mounting system, is great (exactly as Sub described), no more shifting floor mats.
All in all not cheap at all but I was not looking for cheap floor mats so you pay what you get . |

Appreciate your posting the pics as I've been looking at those exact mats (and logo, and color, lol!) for a few months and was hoping for a better look at em in situ. Leaning against getting the 'Cadillac' script, but the logo was a given and certainly looks sharp!
Will be pulling the trigger on a set for the Eldo next time Autopride has a free shipping special. |

Then here the fees you have to pay when receiving the package (in the range of $90+), there is a fee I "love" allot the "brokerage fee". You end up almost double the price in the end...so much cheaper if I would have been living just 60 miles south form here. |

There's a lower limit to size if you keep detail.
Mine were done when you could specify BOTH logo and script so I have the later silver wreath logo with a red STS underneath. |

The Cadillac logo under the emblem is the only one actually embroidered.
As for the logo/color combination I specifically requested this one to match the emblems I got on the car (gold plated emblems all around). You can still specify both the emblem and the logo and script and the newer logo is available (I think only silver).
I am still looking for that metal plating company willing to gold plate my center caps “STS” logo (only). I was unable to source an OEM set (I have only seen one on one of Jake’s cars) other than that just in pictures. There are two variations, one with the “STS” logo sticking out (like you will glue your trunk “STS” logo on the center caps – I don’t like those) and one with the “STS” logo in recess (same like the regular chrome plated center caps but gold plated logo – that’s what I am looking for). Stupid thing both the chrome plated and chrome plated w/gold plated “STS” logo (in recess) have identical part numbers (can’t explain why).
As for the mounting system (again you were right is great!) I like the fact that it goes to the detail of matching the floor mat color, they could just have used one single color (black?) for all, but nope, it is actually matching the interior color. Very nice touch! |

I had once my niece and nephew on the booster sits (can you spell disaster?), but I put a blanket on the rear seat and moved the front seats all the way forward so they don’t reach. Obviously I had to carry then in my arms to put them on the booster seats so they don’t step on anything, kind of hard since my niece is getting quite heavy (6 years +), so yeah I rather break my back to avoid mudding my floors (long leave medical insurance!).
My nephew said: “why is your car so nice?” In my mind was...because I tricked you to finish that banana before getting in.
So to answer to your question, I don’t know, I only vacuum the interior once a week and that just to remove dust, I would assume not as easy as my $18 Wall Mart floor mats I use to have before. But this is why I also ordered a set of transparent protective floor mats (for the front - peeu they stink!); good for winter or such occasions as you described. If I an expecting to such occurrence I just put the protective mats (chewing gum is the no 1 enemy). | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
