An 07 DTS bears no resemblance to an 01 Seville.
Go back through this thread and do the height and pump leveling checks as suggested. If the rear stays up to the max there are ONLY two possibilities: The level control sensor link arm is disconnected or the pump/exhaust valve system is toast. |

With well over 300 hundred pounds sitting in the trunk the car appeared to be where it should be but the pump never kicked on, nor could i hear air exhausting. when my friends got out of the trunk i never heard the pump come on again but the car was once again raised up to the same point it was before they got in. That darn pump only comes on when i first start the car...no other time do i ever hear it come on. Sound like i need a new height sensor or are you still saying I need a compressor overhaul? Thanks for any advice because this is drving me nuts |

Go back through this thread and do the tests and diagnostics. If your system keeps the car at max height, you have a level problem. |

Thanks for the quick reply ... I had an off-the-wall thought, last night, that possibly (?) a recent change to my trunk weight may be the cause. It's wishful thinking on my part, but recently I discovered (due to info on this forum) that I have the dreaded trunk leak. It's probably been there since the car was new, but unless you have some reason to access the spare, you'd never know. Well, I've taken the spare and carpet out and haven't put anything back yet because I just haven't had a chance to isolate and fix the problem (about 3 weeks). Maybe the sensor/computer is confused ? I'm going to put some weight in the trunk this weekend and see what happens.
Other than that, I do have an extended warranty I've never used, so now might be the time to use it. Just wish I knew of a service tech or dealer that I could trust (Milwaukee). My couple of dealer experiences, when the car was still under the original warranty, are still unpleasant memories.

Regardless of the weight in the trunk, the height control should maintain the set sensor adjustment height.
Either something is disconnected or the level control compressor exhaust valve is corroded/seized shut. |

After replacement, the car stayed level for a couple of weeks, an then suddenly the compressor raised it completely and it won't come down now. Each time I start the car, the compressor works for a short while, but there is no exhaust after I shut it down, so the car stays up. I have checked all the fuses, disconnected the ELC height sensor, fooled somewhat around with the height control link arm, and put it back together, but it made no difference. Compressor still continues to work, there's no air exhaust, and the car stays up. Can anyone help, before I pull the car into the $$$$ cadillac Dealer - Living in Belgium, there's only 1 dealer in the area (of a 1000 square miles) and they feel verry $$$$ happy when they can replace complete systems..... |
