I plan on making it louder with a Corsa exhaust eventually. But first I gotta fix all the minor things that continue to bug me. |

I know what you mean about going from paid off vehicles to payments... not fun
It looks like your car doesn't have the Blose system.... atleast I didn't see it on the headunit.
Personally I like the newer headunits on cars, and like to do factory-looking installs. As far as I am concerned, CD's may as well be outdated for car use, it is much more easier and convient to load up all my music on the iPod and take it in the car... heck, the battery on my 3G 8gb Nano lasted my entire Key West trip, it was used about 70% of the time, except for when I was in the 3 cities (listened to local top40 stations.)
Anyway... you may want to check this out: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136CLSE...S.html?tp=1672
That will fit your car if you don't have Blose (may if you do, but I ran the search without) that one gives you up to 3 sources, so you can have XM/Sirrius, iPod and even a 3rd.
Basically they plug into the cd-changer connection and fool the headunit into thinking it is playing a track on the cd-changer. I have one in both the Lincoln and the Jeep, the Lincoln one is 1-input, the Jeep has 2, to use it I just push mode, which if on radio goes to cd (if cd is in) if on cd then goes to cdc (changer) To switch between the two I just push track up/dn. On the Lincoln, I just push CD on the headunit.
In the case of the Lincoln, the amp/processor is in the trunk, so the box plugged into it back there, then I ran the wire into the cabin, removed the bottom cushion of the backseat, which is where the box is, then ran a 6ft RCA-mini stereo cable up along the carpet/body trim, under the front passenger seat and it pokes up between the seats.
On the Jeep, it was crudely installed for the trip, but there was a cable that plugged into the headunit directly, that went to the box, which I stuck behind the glove box, then ran the RCA/mini-stereo cable out. It was just for the trip, I will be installing it correctly and drill out a hole to put a female stereo mini connector in the dash so I can plug whatever I want in, for the inout 2 will probably be hardwired for XM.
Either way, I reccomend spending the money and getting an AUX input box if you are going to use any type of aux device.... sound quality is the best you can get too, much better then tape adapter. |

It works fine, it's convenient and I'm not enough of an audio expert to really know the difference.. Should the cassette player die, however, I'll look into the aux cable.
I've used a piece of Velco to secure the iPod on the console (yes, I am that anal retentive), and even though the battery lasts quite a while, I have it plugged into the power port on the passenger side footwell. Strange location for the power port, but the installation looks clean and uncluttered.
Speaking of clean, the leather in Lincoln looks like it needs it. Sandy would not approve! Time to go buy some Dove.

Time to go buy some Dove. | eh, yeah she needs a cleaning but there are much more important things around here to take care of first... such as when talking Lincolns, to fix it first, she is still parked under the car cover, I already have the new under intake manifold hose to replace (leaking coolant) but want to get a PI intake manifold to swap in and gain a few poines, since it'll already be out. That was going to be my next auto-repair adventure, but I think I'd rather rebuild the shifter linkage assembly and install short shifter in the BMW first.
Is there a link for Sandy's Dove-soap cleaning process?
As for the AUX input box... even if you don't think you'd hear the difference in sound, it would eliminate the cord hanging across the dash from the cassette player, dunno if that bothers you or not, it bugged me tho when I was using the tape adapter in the Lincoln. |

The Cliff Notes version is you take a bar of Dove soap and soak it in about 8 oz. of distilled water (I use the filtered water from the door dispenser on my fridge). Sandy says it will dissolve, but in my experience, it there's still plenty of the bar that's solid even after a week. So I pour everything into a blender before I start to clean.
Use a little bit of a time with a damp cloth and rinse often (I use a separate cloth for that). You'll likely need to change your rinse water often, and you'll be amazed at how dirty the water gets and how fast. Then use a paper towel (Sandy recommends Bounty or Viva for high cotten content) to wipe up any excess.
After the leather is dry, give it a light spray of Pledge, which has Vitamin E in it (good for the leather) and provides a protective layer over the leather. Sandy says the treatment is good for six months, and you can spray Pledge in between deep cleanings (I will do this whenever I wash the car).
I'm sure the commercial leather cleaners work well, but most are ridiculously priced, and I know from experience that the Dove treatment does a very nice job; your interior will even smell fresh and clean.

Mine came with the regular chrome 16's, no NAVI, no sunroof, no TPS, no backup sensors. Nuthin, just a regular STS. Now, dont get me wrong, i love it but i wish the cheap asses who had it before would have atleast got the 17's, those are badass wheels, BTW anyone know where to get a set of those at? Also, keeping up with the interior is crazy, i detail Halle a few times a month and the leather is still cracking and wut not. Eh, i love her tho. |

But I love the rain-sensing wipers, auto-dipping backup mirror, and memory heated seats. |

Buy a set of '03 CTS wheels off eBay (same 7-flat spoke 17", only polished clearcoat)(see pic) and have them powdercoated in black chrome. www.wheelcollision.com . H4566/WCC207
Actually, the missing sunroof is a mixed blessing, because they (Seville) are noted for plugged drain lines and mysterious leaks. If you don't keep the car in a garage, you're better off without it. The ventilation system is perfectly adequate without the sunroof also.
If you need NAV for anything other than bling, you have no business driving a car. AAA maps are perfectly fine, thank you, and a cheap GARMIN Nuvi GPS is infinitely easier to operate and cheaper to maintain and update. |

However, since I don't do many road trips I rarely put it in the car, but I do take it on trips all over the country and it fits in my carry-on much better than the Caddy. |

I have used the Verizon GPS system for my phone on a couple of road trips, mostly for time and distance to my destination.
I'll probably keep the wheels the same. I am interested in changing out the emblems on the grille and trunk with the new wreath and crest. Am going to look at 2002 Seville on Saturday to see if they're roughly the same size. |

I also believe the Cadillac script was used on the Euro models where the 32V Northstar badge sits.
I think the car looks perfect the way it is right now. I'm usually not a fan of the silver wheels on the Seville's, but it looks great on your car. I also like the black molding on the bottom. Many of the plainer Seville's around here are Cashmere (ew), and the black really clashes with that color.
BTW, thanks for the reference to the Dove leather treatment. Just saved me quite a bit of money as I was about to buy Leatherique. This treatment sounds just as good at 1/2 the price. |
