Alternatively, many good paint places will mix a spray can for $25 (at least in Lansing, MI they did) or so with your paint code.

Get the kind that brushes on or use the pen type touch up paint. You should only use spray if your going to be painting a large area. Plus with these Caddys many and most use a unique three step paint process to get the final color. Try automotivetouchup.com and enter your paint code. They custom make your car color and Ive used them in the past with great results. |

You also have in your profile that you have white diamond paint, that will be very hard to match regardless, from what I gather from the forum here. |

The GM paint sticks are all-in-one. |

He's had a body shop take out a couple antler marks but its not easy to match. http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...hate-deer.html (I Hate Deer!) |

Not sure where I got the white diamond touchup paint, but it was on-line and came in two bottles as it does not include clear coat. Even my uncle who has been in the auto business for decades was impressed.
Excepting big dings, I've found that toothpicks (both round but very slightly blunted and flat) are far better application tools than the "brush in cap" that is far too big.
With white diamond it's important to carefully examine the blemish to see how many layers are affected. Often it's just the top color coat; other times it goes down to the primer or even bare metal. The "secret" of the Langka system is the difference in factory-type (catalytic) paints and touch-up paints. The "blob eliminator" chemical will slowly dissolve touch-up paint, but not factory and with proper application and timing, you'll be left with a perfectly smooth finish instead of blobs or pits.
Since discovering the Langka system, I've repaired hundreds of flaws up to the size of a dime or so with the overwhelming majority smaller than a pea. Actually, I find that the bigger areas are easier and have door edge dings down to a science, even with white diamond. Single coat paints are easier. The tiny dings on leading edges of hoods and front bumpers are the most difficult for me, especially with white diamond. While tiny, they're usually down to the primer and it takes 2-3 "coats" (4-6 with white diamond) using miniscule amounts of paint. While the "blob eliminator" does exactly what the name implies, if you're sloppy you'll just wind up pulling out your repair. |

I had him repaint my bumper covers but he refused to even attempt the chips and dings that if utterly picky may as well have required a complete paint job.
Then I researched and found that Langka system and I very nicely repaired over 80 blemishes in white diamond (about 8 hours over two days) and many more in standard finishes (single day). While it takes time, patience and a steady hand, the most noticeable (say about the size of a tiny pea) white diamond flaws now take VERY close examination to see and most in other finishes are essentially invisible. |

Not cheap, but if I remember price is actually down a bit from when I bought over the summer. Have made hundreds of repairs and still at least 1/4 in all of the bottles, but I've essentially used up little, smooth, dense microfiber cloth that comes with the kit. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
