'92 Seville 4.9 A/C Conversion?

Remove this ad
Hi,
I have a 1992 Seville with a 4.9 and the: low refrigerant/check A/C on the dash came on, is there a special kit and/or components to convert the system to run on 134A freon? I know its not recommended and the system is computer controlled, etc.
If its possible whats the neccessary procedures, etc.?
Thanks Guys!

It is possible, but not cheap (when done correctly) nor real easy. You need to replace the accumulator and in most cases the condensor as well because the newer ones are almost impossible to flush. You also need to flush the entire system.

what about the switches, sensors etc. I know these cadi's are totally different due to the computer/electronic controlling etc.
Anybody here actually did a successful conversion?

Not positive, but I think all the sensors are OK.
