I even saw a youtube video showing a guy who installed a turbocharger into the bumper of his STS and, needless to say, it hauled ass.
So... have any STS owners here hit the gas pedal and held it there for a minute to see what their STS could do? What's the top speed you got it to? |

You are supposed to pay few thousands for impounding fee and probably more for your future issuance premium. Why having W rated tires I will say…
And the 0-60 time is 6.9 (at least for ’97 STS)

Look at the tire ID sticker on the driver's door and the letter code after the size will give you the speed limiter set into the PCM.
S = 112 mph, H = 130 mph, Z = 154 +/-, depending on drag and condition of the car.
My STS will easily do 132 mph (speedo and GPS).
DO NOT attempt top speeds with anyone else in the car, if your tires are excessively worn, or not rated for the limiter set into your car. |

If memory serves me correctly it only cost him $12,000, adding credence to the saying, "how fast do you want to go and how much money do you have?" |

I had no idea there was a difference I hate stopping at 112, you cant win a race like that! lol. I'm heading to the dealer in a couple of weeks and I'm gonna talk to a tech about getting that Limiter changed. I want to see what my SLS will do. Im sure it'll be fast as hell cause I'm in 3rd gear at 4500k when it hit's 112...

I really hope you're not doing this on public roads, only tools street race. If you can't afford to take it to a track, buy a cheaper car so you can afford the entrance fees, wear & tear. Also, you do know a 4000 lb FWD car w/o a LSD is not a drag car right? I hope by 'race' you are not actually cornering in said vehicle at said speeds otherwise you = death, be smart, put it on a track... |

I meet up with around 1,000 car enthusiest every Saturday to hang out. We meet up at the local Sonic and check out the cars. Then we go to a secret spot around 11pm and just do drag races either from a dig or 30mph roll. I just go straight, no turning at all. So ya.....that's it. these car's aren't *****'s....they can take it. If you take care of the N8, then she'll take care of you |

Nobody around but me and nobody else in the car. That was already too fast for the road conditions so I let off. Mine' Z-rated so I'm sure it would have done WAY more. |

I will come by someday to one of the saturday meets and I hope there are so good cars to see because on tuesday, It all seemed like High school cars there....
Raze, For us, the track is 2 hours or so away from us and can't always make it there. I Know its not good to race on the streets but at the right time and place where its safe to open your cars up, I think its ok. As long as your not endangering innocent people, I think its fine but thats just my oppinion.
Oh BTW I have hit 90 MPH on a 95 seville when I test drove one...lol |

I hope for you and your friends' sakes none of you end up in an accident that harms yourself or others. Realize you ARE hurting others even if you only injure yourself on public roads because MY insurance premiums go up and so do MY medical costs, not to mention the cost in police/ambulance service that goes up with each wreck.
At 18-19 y/o I wouldn't expect you to have the slightest clue what I'm talking about because mommy and daddy still pay your bills and you still think you're invincible...
If you can't afford to drive 2 hours to a track move, oh wait you still live at home with mommy and daddy, again, since they pay your bills maybe you should ask them how they feel about having to possibly pay for your wrecklessness? |
