Unless Wester's has changed the speed limiter in the PCM, you're stuck, and neither love nor money will buy you any more speed. |

I have pushed my 99 ETC once to see what the governer is set at. It will do 130mph before the computer kicks in but I'm sure it would do more. It didn't shift out of 3rd until 120. I was also on a long straight road at about 2:30 in the morning that I am familiar with. If you must be stupid at least do it in a safeR location. |

This was on an empty backroads and since my tires are unbalanced, the damn thing wobbles around like no ones business. |

Then I replaced the front struts with Monroe (has no plug in for sensor) so now it's limited to 90! Just as said above by sub, gotta send it in to Wester's to get fixed. |

It had a six cylinder automatic (on the console between the buckets of course). It was "Daddy bought it" speed limited.
Sheep in wolves' clothing is nothing new.

and if I lock 3rd gear than STS go 150mph on it with cca 6900-7000 rpm |

with stock tire size and 3.71 final gear ratio you can do about 170 @ 6400rpm. No offense, but there's no way in hell you're running 7000rpm on the stock engine unless you've removed the limiter, in which case cool, but I wouldn't want a piston aimed at my head shooting through the block/firewall |

Frontal area and resistance limits the vehicle to 150+ IF, and only IF, it's a Z-car. There are several limiters which come into play, all different. One is vehicle speed, another is engine speed (redline about 6300, tach overshoots slightly at WOT shift). Different limiters for different purposes. And there's always the transmission controls to worry about.......... Hlod, Please post a picture of the tire information sticker which is on the driver's door rear surface. (If you are in western Europe, it will probably be a Z-car.)
S = 112 mph
H = 130 mph
W/Z = no speed limiter. Top speed determined by tune and resistance, above.
...........and Yeah That ^^^. Suspension fault limits are non-removable except by suspension repair with the correct part(s) or by tricking the sensor message. |

a friend of mine was driving on the turnpike a couple months ago going the speed limit. he was on a kawasaki cruising type 1300cc bike...at 65 mph. there was a few 18 wheelers one behind him, two in front of him. he went topass the one in front and didnt see the massive pothole in front of him.. he almost died going 65 mph. was in the trauma unit for 4 weekswith a punctured lung, lacerated liver, 9 broken ribs, and a broken shoulder. this is a guy who has 15+ years experience on a bike. on the street you just never know what is ahead of you... it will always be a risk with your life driving at 100+ mph on the street. |

I know he had to have been trying to figure out what I'd done to my car to pull that off. The answer is nothing. If there were any mods done to it I'd get in more trouble than I could ever get out of. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
