FPR Connection Problem

Remove this ad
Eldorado 1993 4.6
hey yall again, Im trying to see if anyone knows if theres something the fpr mounts inside the intake manifold. there are two o rings one on the inside and one out, but the fpr just sits on the fuel line, and when i pressurize the system, the leak comes for this connection. It looks as if there should be something down there are there are threads on the fpr itself. The picture shows the bottom of the fpr that i am attempting to connect the inflow fuel line. thanks

Re: FPR Connection Problem

I'm not sure about the 93, but on a 97 there's a special O ring between the base in the fuel rail and the FPR itself made to withstand exposure to gasoline under pressure. Your new FPR should have come with a replacement. Be sure the old O ring isn't stuck in the base. Also, the FPR is held in place by a large C clip that fits a ridge in the FPR. I had to reuse the existing one when I changed mine out. The side fitting is for the vacuum line. It should just press on.

Re: FPR Connection Problem

93 doesn't need a vacuum line as it is inside of the manifold itself.... Hmmm check for cracks in the vinyl fuel rail at that connection. Also, If it's leaking from there and it didnt come with an O ring, maybe you should take it off and find an O ring that fits.

I scanned my '93 Seville Owners Manual Volume 1 pages C6-13 & C6-14 showing the parts & legend. Note the lines below the Injector housing.

I hope this helps.
