    Case half leaks

I know of a '94 STS owner who has been battling oil leak problems. I have heard of the block leak problem, but can't find good detailed info. Any info on the history of the problem would be great. Has anyone gotten GM to help with the repair $'s out of warranty?

See... has a set of pictures of the job being done on a Olds 4.0. Basically the same engine as the Northstar. See the site and look under the 'how to' section.

You wont get any help from GM for out of warranty...... Especially if the car uses less than 1qt every 2kmiles..... How much oil does it use???

FYI= people sometimes have reduced leaks if they add one less qt at an oil change...... That is fine on the engine, but you would have to be sure to monitor the level carefully....
