Thanks for the detailed Info.

The 6/12 is still going strong.
Adrians changed to a BYB (?) and is now Uncle Charlie's BBQ.
Pretty good food, but not much capitilization in the transition.
We have a place in Grasonville are you far?

Thanks again!

Re: Normal Cooling Fans Operation ???

After a little time to digest...
The motors are not 2 speed, so if they work in one mode, they are good.
Since there is voltage avalible to one side of the contact all the time.
Does the PCM provide + to the coil or ground.
I bench tested my relays and they all work, so I'm thinking that maybe I have a corroded ground so the coils might not be pulling in.

Now that I know how they should work, I can get my IR temp gun and watch what happens as it warms up to confirm there really is a problem with the fans.

While you are watching, I'm replacing the T-stat. What's the best method to the coolant mix back in the system with the least amount of air?

Thanks!

Re: Normal Cooling Fans Operation ???

I can hit Grasonville VFW with a good .30-06 rifle shot.

The PCM commands Fans: RUN and Parallel/Series (speed), therefore relay + coil (minimal current draw) closes the high current 12V contacts.

Know that the Northstar does not place the thermostat in the "upper" radiator hose, it is in the internal engine recirculate bypass so it does not even start to open until the entire engine system is up to at least 188. This guarantees quick warmup, thus lower emissions, which surprises many new N* owners.
