Question on lighting/ tailights, park lights, etc......
I just changed all the bulbs on my 92 STS that were burned out. They all are working now however, my blinkers flash real fast that suggests a bulb is burnt out, which is not the case. I changed the flasher thinking that would solve it. It didn't. What could be the problem?? Thx.

Blinks fast both sides? Fast blinking is an indication of an open circuit and as you said, usually a burnt out filiment in a bulb, but you could have a poor connection on a bulb socket. You will get the same symtom. So look for a corroded, rusted bulb socket or poor ground to the socket. If the same bulb is used for brake lights as well as turn signals, turn on the 4 way flashers and walk around the car. You will see the inop bulb. Look closely at its socket.

Thx for the quick response Carnut. I will look into it. BTW, it blinks fast both sides. If it is a bad socket, what has to be done to correct it?

Cut the wires and splice in a new socket.

Thk You Ranger. Would a junkyard be a good candidate for a socket, or order a new one? Kinda new to me.

Junk yard is an old socket. Get a new one. Most auto parts stores have them. Take in the faulty one to match up if you find that its a socket problem.

Thx for the help Ranger. I've got it corrected now with a trip to the salvage yard. All the lights are working as they should.

Not trying to be sarcastic carnut, but if you read the first post, it explains it. My blinkers were flashing real fast, due to a corroded socket. Thx.
