The headlights on my 98 seville are yellowing terribly and have a crusty film on them, i purchased some plastic cleaner i think it was bluemagic headlight cleaner or somethign like that it took some slight yellowing off but they still look like sh*t. Anyone with a similar issue? or anyone have ne good ideas? also i posted this in the audio section but i figure seville people might only check this thread or w/e my front left dash speaker is blown what kind of a hassle am i in for if id like to replace it, or is it as simple as just taking of the grate and popping it out? any feedback is much appreciated
Yellowing headlights may be from too much head - do you have an aftermarket HID setup? That may be part of the problem. To change the speaker you must remove the dashpad. Procedure has been posted many times here. Remove A-pillar trim and 4 HVAC vents (this is the most annoying part) and there is one 7mm bolt behind each vent. Pad slides forward and then lift. Disconnect wiring and R&R your speaker.
Go to either www.autogeek.net or www.customchemicalpkg.com and get a dedicated power drill driven headlight kit. Some elbow grease and quite a bit of time and you'll be amazed.

They also have a headlight restore kit at napa, works fairly well. If the discolortaion is on the inside of the lense as well, then you are shit outta luck.
alright thanks alot man, i just got one of those kits so im gonna give it a try for the headlights. that sux balls about rippin the dash out cuz ive heard once u take it out its never the same again and ull trade a crappy speaker for a now rattling dashpad.
thanks,
sean
It shouldn't rattle unless you break something, be very gentle taking it apart. If you do get a rattle afterward, take it back apart and put a little dynamat on where the rattle is coming from.
