new to the forum and have a few questions

whats up fellow Cadillac owners im new here and have a few questions about my 1997 Cadillac Eldorado

1.when i have my ac on high and i start to get going (around 60mph) it stops blowing cold and it blows very low. Could it be the ac compressor going out?

2.does anyone have any pics of a double din dvd/cd player in a 93-02 Eldorado i know they dont make a kit and im trying to get ideas to make one

3.And finally i been to all the auto parts store in my area (Houston,Tx) and no one carries a K&N Air filter for the Eldorado i even looked on the k&n website and i didnt see one. so i was wondering if i could try to match one to fit. my buddy has a 96 caprice and his k&n air filter fits in mine perfect. will that work or any other advice do y'all have about that

sorry if the questions are repeats i tried to search but my pc is not loading after i search for some reason

thanks

Re: new to the forum and have a few questions

Forget the K&N filter. What you have is, and was designed, as good as it gets. (But, no bragging rights......) Go back in Northstar Performance for why and how.......K&N, for your (our) car(s) is useless money down the drain. Research before you regret it.

Be very, very, very careful of splicing into wiring or stereo cabling. A lot of the wiring carries vehicle system-dependent serial data stream. Look in Audio, alarms, down there in Technical

As far as the HVAC system goes, learn to pull DTC's and find out what your car is telling you. You don't need scanners or anything else: it's all built in already. Look at the stickys at the top of each forum concerning your car/system. read the Technical Archives (all of them) at the top of this page, in the black area.

Re: new to the forum and have a few questions

Talamant3Z, you'll want to talk to CadillacSTS2003 (one of our more prominent forum members) about the audio install you want to do in your Eldo. He also has a 97 Eldo and did a full aftermarket install in it.

This is in a 94 though, with a totally different stereo setup than the one in your 97.

There is a kit though that makes it look stock in your 97. Good luck.
