Question 97 SLS engine miss

I recently lightly washed the engine on my 97 Seville sls, being careful to not soak the electronics or plugs. I made sure the engine was hot and left the hood open all day to dry. I even used an air gun to blow out as much moisture as possible. Now the engine has a slight hesitation on take off and a miss when under a load, mainly at high rpm's. It seems to be smooth at mid range though. It seems to be worse when hot out as opposed to early morning when it's cooler. It's been abaout 2 weeks now and no improvement. Please help anyone!

Re: 97 SLS engine miss

Did you use compressed air to blow water out of the plug wells?

Re: 97 SLS engine miss

Yes, used air right away and started engine and let run for a while. It's very evident in reverse. The strange thing is it's not a constant miss like a fouled plug or something, it smoothes out during midrange rpm's like 2500-3500 thru its powerband. Almost feels like a rev limiter at high end but the eng still pulls thru high rpm's. When starting from a dead idle it feels dead, it hesitates a moment then misses then pulls strong then misses again. ??? Thanks.

Re: 97 SLS engine miss

Try pulling the coils and then the ICM and blow out all the connectors.

Re: 97 SLS engine miss

I am very interested in this topic too. My car began to do the same. At low RPMs engine sometimes shakes for a fraction of second, like as one cylinder misses. It occurs very randomly (only in low revs), sometimes once in two minutes, sometimes five times in minute. I found if the car is in reverse it occurs more often. If you realized what was wrong with your car, please let me know. DIC reports no codes. Thanks.
