Well I am throughly enjoying my 99 eldo. The ride is so smooth I feel like I am floating down the highway.
The only thing I dislike about it so far is it seems that it gives off a good amount of heat from the engine into the car. I am wondering if it is something pacific to my car or if that is kind of standard.
turn your digital temp down to 60, if it's up at 75+ your car circulates/vents air from the engine bay around that temp even if the system isn't on, otherwise actually turn on your A/C and you should have no problems...
The HVAC system will always try to maintain the last set driver/passenger temps even though the system is "OFF". The blower doesn't run: the blend doors stay where they were when you push the Driver temp/on/off button to turn everything off. There's a quiet little hidden statement to that fact in m '02 owner's manual. So, if you've been enjoying nice, dry 70 degree air with the a/c on, and shut the system down, as the outside temps go to 90 the system is still trying to supply that 70 degree air, but with no a/c drying (and therefore cooling) effect.
I still havent been able to figure out how to stop the vents from being open and having the hot air come in around my legs. Is there definetely a way to do this that I am missing? Ive tried turning my temp down and then setting to off but that didnt cut it out.
are you refering to heat in the car when hvac is off?? if so put the hvac sysetm in recirc mode and turn off the havc system this will not allow outside air while you are driving
