Cold Weather Cd Changer

OK well i have a 1997 cadillac eldorado with a stock 12 cd changer in it, it plays store bought cds and cds made in itunes, just fine but every cd i have put in it wont play past 10 it either says error or acts like the cd is scratched and freezes up, so i dont know if its from the cold or if its dirty or what i can do to fix it, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Do you mean it wont play the 10th. song on each disc,or it wont play the 10 disc in the holder?.

well it got above freezing today and the whole cd worked so does anyone have any ideas to fix this for next winter

This is a common CD player issue. Almost every owners manual will address the moisture on the lens in cold weather situation. Some say to allow the vehicle to warm up before using the CD player, others say to reinsert the disc. Is the CD player in the trunk? I presume it is. Is it surrounded by either trunk carpet or trunk cardboard? If not, wrap something around it ti insulate it. Could help by getting a CD lens cleaner disc and doing the cleaning. Any large electronics store will have the cleaner disc.

yeah ill try both but it definitly seems to be when its below freezing so like you said moisture thanks for the help
