Hood Cable Release

Hello,

Can someone please tell me how I could fix this new problem. I pull on the hood release cable and the hod doesn't open. How can I get under the hood and how can I fix this? I just got the fsm and it's not in there.

Well, went through the grill and found what appears to be a latch. Was able to pull on it and I feel it moving towards me, the hood moved up about an inch, but not enough to get anything in-between hood and grill. Is there something else I could try? Also chipped away at the hood release inside the car. The cable was not in perfect condition, but it was intact. I pulled and pulled on it but nothing. Help please?

See if you can get at it from underneath.
