Pulley Squeek,chirp Annoying!!

Ok, I have a 93 STS and the top pulley beside the power steering reservoir is making some chirping noises.. Not the belt! I sprayed WD40 on the center of the pulley where it mounts and the chirping stopped for like 1 minute. Then it started again. Whats up? Do i need a new pulley? are the bearings gone? Thanks


EDIT: Also need to know what pulley it is. (its the one beside the power steering fluid reservoir) Is it the power steering pulley? And whats the best replacement one i can buy? I dont really have that much to spend.

Yeah, the bearing is bad. If it is attached to the P/S pump then you have to replace the pump. Otherwise it is the idler or tensioner bearing.

If what is attached to the Pump? Why would i have to replace the whole pump??

Sorry if i sound like an idiot...

Is the idler or tensioner bearing around the area i discribed i was spraying the wd40 on?? What bearings are located around that pulley i am talking about?

I guess im just trying to figure out what i am going to have to replace.

If the pulley you are talking about is attached to the pump, then the pump bearing is bad and you have to replace the pump. I have no idea which pulley you sprayed WD40 on with out a picture or a diagram. My guess would be it is either the idler or tensioner.
