Testing EBTCM without completely installing

Does anyone know if you can test Electronic Brake/traction control module (EBTCM) without completly installing it in car The scrap yard send me another complete unit complete with brake portion can I just plug in the jack and see if it works before going through whole installation. Orignal problem traction control light on code tc0073 first replacement same thing

Make sure the case is grounded, maybe with a clip lead.

I tryed doing this and it still said ebtcm was bad so after a week I decided to try and install it completely and its testing good so I guess there is no short cuts you have to fully install it to see if its good

you can test itll power up
but as far as fuctionality under a traction needed or abs needed scenario nope cant test it...

fit it in the car then test using tech2, proceedure is is the FSM
