I finally got down to the point where I didn't have enough clips left to put it back on, so I broke down and bought them from the dealer. The 9 regular clips were priced OK but I got JACKED on the fender well clips for >$4 apiece!! I checked GMpartsdirect.com and they're only $2.12 there... fortumately there's only four of them. Anyway:
GM p/n 14093088 (nine total on the splash guard)
GM p/n 11518017 (four total, two in each wheel well) |

Emergencies can be handled by substitutes from the "HELP" blister pack racks at a big parts store. |

Found a local place right down the road that has every type imaginable. Got them for about $1 each. Got pretty luck there. |

Now I'm pretty much reduced to the dealer, a Napa, a small Carquest or a few Autozones, purveyors of the finest Mexican auto parts you can buy. |

I have threaded the fastener holes in the metal structure and now use short bolts and large washers. Top and bottom.
Works for me. |

All I know is that when I changed the radiator in my Deville I bought new Mexican upper and lower hoses from Autozone (after I bought the radiator from a local guy for $100 cheaper than they quoted me). After comparing them to the original OEM hoses with 100,000 miles and >15 years on them I put the OEM hoses back in. |

| I just use a screwdriver to pop the center pin out and then pull the rivet.
Chubby,
I've always believed that AZ parts are cheap for a reason. That is why I won't use any of their parts. You pretty much confirm my suspicions. |

Pull the center out 1/2" or so, then remove the rivet. Once out you'll see how they work. When you replace them, just insert them in the hole and press the center pin in and it spreads the rivet to hold it in place. |
