please help!!! i have a 97 sts 109k was driving everything normal with seat heaters on. when i cranked the heater controls to maximum the engine shut off immediately and will not restart....only crank . i tried to crank the engine untill the battery died. i'm unsure if turning on the climate controls w/ the seat heaters, head lights, wipers, and radio had anything to do with it but it was the first day that i drove the car using the climate controls or the seat heaters. the car had not been driven for a few months before then. it seems as if everytime i switched on something, it put a tremendous strain on the engine. the car ran normal before this, please help!

Have the battery checked. Sounds like low voltage.

Re: 97 sts shut off while driving, won't start

There is no fuel pump reset. Based on what you said, the fuel pump is highly suspicious. Get a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and see what kind of fuel pressure you have, if any. Might also check the fuel pump fuse and relay. That said, since you said "i tried to crank the engine untill the battery died", I doubt it is the relay. Also check the fuel pump plug. If the connector is burnt, the pump is going or gone creating excessive resistence.
