I got curious after all the BS with this car.
Its just that the connector looks homemade for some reason.

PITA I would bet that is factory but somebody gooned up the backshell/cover. |

Double sided with wires hanging out. No idea what it does but I hope its not important. |

There should be a bracket attached to the drivers side strut tower to support it. If that's it, it is very important. |

| Nice to see that when they produced a $54,000 car in 1999 they skipped a $5 backshell for this connector, or even 50 cents of electical tape and wire loom. |

I think that is a Packard Electric connector, it doesn't look like much but it is what I refer to as a "weatherpack" connection. It has a seal on each wire to prevent water intrusion. There is a lock on it to hold the connection tight and honestly we rarely have trouble with it.
The picture shows it dangling in the air, it should be hooked on a bracket or clip on the side of the strut tower, that might make it look cleaner and you can always kind of squeeeze all the wires together and wrap some electrical tape around the harness to make it look nicer.
It looks like someone has been messing with it, what kind of work has been done on this car?

I think his Dad or an associate did the job and it apparently hasn't been right since. |

eWill3rd, did you happen to read that post about the new dude with s '93 Deville that has a werido problem of stalling every time he turns on the HVAC????.. I'm curious as to what you think the diagnosis would be. |

(......and the rpm will change depending on whether you're in 4th or 4th with torque converter lockup (D).) Your transmission has 4 primary speeds as well as convertor lockup for "5th" or OD. | | Cadillac Discussion Tools | | |
