Front passenger window regulator

My 1999 Cadillac STS was having trouble with rolling front passenger window up and down. I took the door panel off and pulled outthe regulator assembly. The cable somehow got tangled up in the roller of the motor and got kinda messed up, which explains why the window couldn't move up or down and making grinding noise. I wonder whether I can replace this cable or not.

Thanks.

Re: Front passenger window regulator

Same thing that happened to me. I haven't found the cable, I am going to go junkyard hopping and see if I can find what I need.

Re: Front passenger window regulator

I know that you said this was for your front pass side, but my rear driver side went out, did yours make a crunching sound? Almost like some broken glass? And how did you get the door panel off? I feel like such a retard, because I can only find one screw for this thing.

any help would be great.

Re: Front passenger window regulator

Yup, it was making crunching sound like a broken glass. There are 2 more screws in the leather net part of the panel. You lift up the lowest pointy part of this leather net panel, which is right behind the big leather door arm, which is where you hold the door with your palm. Lift it gently and you will see it will bend up, it's being held by the felcro tape.
