01 STS just dies

Every now and again while in motion the engine just dies. Radio,lights and everything still work- just not the engine. It seems to happen more when turning then any thing else. Sometimes if you are quick enough and step hard on the gas the engine comes back to life and other times it takes a few seconds to a minute to fire back up. Could it be the fuel pump? Can somebody please give me a direction to start looking. The car only has 55000 miles with new battery and tight connections so my knowledge is spent. PLEASE HELP

Hmmmm.......Pull your DTC codes but I think you wanna have a replacement for your CKP sensors .

a search would of rendered this is a common problem and the remedy would be to pull you diag codes and upon the codes approval to replace the CKPs

Yup, pull codes. replace the crank sensors.

You're probably going to see P0335, P0336, P0385, or P0386, as well as some history low voltage codes which were generated as you cranked for restart.

The ^^ P03xx codes are CranKshaft Position sensor alerts.

Common problem on 2000 - early 2003's. GM had a bad supplier. My money is on the CKP sensors as well.
