This is a new one for me, I was having major fluid loss, so I crawled under the car to check it out.

The problem was fairly obvious, since the CV joint came out of the transmission and the fluid was working it's way out. The shaft was still in there and being turned, but it broke it's lock and came out.

Anyone ever heard of that and should I be worried? It snapped back in and stayed in, it's possible that when I put the motor back in the car, I didn't snap it in all the way.

I may have a comment but I'm going to stay quiet for now. I want to see what other people have to say.

it COULD be that

I am pretty sure that when I put the new CV joint in, I didn't push it to the second lock, I only remember 1 click, this time, I got 2 clicks.

If you pull the cv joint out, the fluid completely drains out, so I know that it came from there.

It needs 2 clicks. As long as the the locking pin/clip came out and didn't go in the tranny I wouldn't be concerned.

It doesn't take much for that area to leak either.
