As some of you know, I recently screwed up with the throttle body cleaner and sprayed it into the intake manifold. Since I got it out and there wasn't any harm done, that's good. Thanks to Ranger for helping me with that situation.
Here's the problem:
Every since then, the exhaust sounds like me gargling salt water when I have a sore throat. Like cheap shit. It happens when I press down half way and let up off the accelerator. The mechanic looked at it real fast (free because I was there) and assumed maybe the cleaner got onto the fuel injectors. I don't know what it is for sure but I do know it sounds bad. I liked that mean growl or purr it had before. Is there an easy way to check or something that it would most likely be?
Another thing is that I floored it today just before it was fully warmed. It didn't pick up much. Then 15 seconds later I hit the throttle and it took off like Road Runner. I guess that was some type of 'mis-fire?"
Your help's appreciated by me.
Thanks. |

There are no codes at all. No SES light or anything. Perfect shape except that exhaust gargle. |

Any special instructions to pulling these? For example with the FPR I unscrewed the gas cap to relieve any pressure. |

I don't think that the injectors have anything to do with it. Almost sounds like you have some liquid in the pipes, though admittedly that sounds hard to swallow. How much have you driven it? Have you had it out for a long drive and really heated the engine and exhaust up good to burn off all that stuff you put in there? |

Have to release the fuel line pressure.. Pull off the N* cover plate and there are I believe 2 bolts holding on the fuel rail.. The fuel injectors will come off with the rail. Just be sure to start from the left side and dont swing them up too high or you might kink a fuel line.
MacK
Almost forgot.. Each injector has a clip holding it onto the manifold.. Cant really recall how to remove.. Believe you use a flathead and push the blue slit upwards till it clicks.

Maybe the cleaner screwed the MAF? Find a long sretch of highway or freeway and get on it hard, look in the RV mirror and side mirrors to see if your blowing a cloud of grayish/black smoke.... If you are, it could mean you are running rich.. Which in turn points to the MAF or a bad plug/wire /coil.... |

I haven't had it on the real highways.
I'll take her on a date and drive her hard.
That may very well show me the problem, maybe even solve it. |
