| | Cadillac Owners Fanatic | | | | | Which car would you recommend? Seville or Eldorado Two questions actually:
1) What are the differences between the Eldorado and Seville?
(which is more luxurious, has the softer/floatier ride and drive, etc.?)
2) I am looking at three models for a possible purchase:
1985 Seville 35K, garaged, immaculate
1994 Eldorado 110K Well maintained
1998 Seville 97K appears to be well maintained, clean
Looking for an eye-catching car, with a smooth, quiet ride, comfortable interior, and a very soft highway/interstate ride (car will be used for weekend travel mainly) Thanks for your advice |

Eye catching ? '85 Seville |

Seville or Eldorado Look at the '98 Seville, BUT run the VIN through a Cad dealer service info website check. There are a few recalls and TSB's associated with pre-'01's. |

Seville or Eldorado I would take the 98 Seville, overall its a great car. I love the Eldorados but a 94 is a tad old IMO, also depends what color and especially the price. A choice between a 98 Eldorado ETC and 98 Seville STS would be a hard one for me, I'm a 4dr guy but a nice pearl white, tan leather and chrome rims Eldorado would be hard to ignore. |

Seville or Eldorado Whichever of the Northstar cars you choose (I am a 98-04 Seville man myself) be sure that the coolant changes have been done on time, and read up on headgaskets and overheating on this forum. If the car wasnt taken care of right this will be a problem.

Eldorado - ETC will have a firmer ride than the base.
I would think that the STS & ETC would ride about the same. Same goes for the base Eldo & SLS.
The '85 has the HT4100. Very under powered. |

Performance HANDS down 97 ETC
Maneuvering i give to the 03 STS (due to magnaride this is a late 02 and 03 STS exclusive)
Features the STS
Ease to work on and find cheap parts the ETC though...
Cruising the STS
Dragging the ETC
pends on what your looking for in a car... |

If you are totally in it for the plushiness though, go for the '85. |

Seville or Eldorado I have a 98 ETC, if you can get something 96+ on the ETC side I'd go with it, the car is hands down better in a straight line as mentiond and turns more heads than the STS.
I disagree with ETC1997 on the maneuvering point only because I put the impossible to find Eibach kit on my Eldo and it'll out corner any magnaride STS, but again due to the fact the Eibach kit is impossible to find any normal STS of later vintage w/Magnaride will outperform any comparable year Eldo, ETC or ESC. |
