Saggy rear end.

Our 96 SLS has a saggy end. I originally thought that it was because we had a leak, but since I have realized later that I never hear the air compressor kicking in, im suspecting a bad fuse. But I cannot locate the fuse for the compressor. All I know is the relay under the hood. Where's that other fuse relay located? Thanks.

Have you checked the owners manual?

Re: Saggy rear end.

I hate it when my rear end is saggy. On the 99 there is a 30 amp ELC fuse with the relay in the rear fuse block under the rear seat. Don't know where it is in the 96 but the layout may be similar. If the 96 has the fuse block under the rear seat that's where I'd look next.

Re: Saggy rear end.

If nothing under the rear seat, check the electronics bay in the trunk, behind the rear seat back.

Re: Saggy rear end.

I just checked, and what I thought was a missing fuse, it turns out that I dont have ELC to begin with. But I know I have air ride, and when I turn the key to ON (without starting the car) the compressor does not kick in like it should. What else should I look at? And shouldn't the air compressor have a fuse for it anyway? I cant seem to locate it.

Re: Saggy rear end.

All Cadillacs have had ELC for as long as I can remember. My first was a '71 CDV and it had it. Yours has it too. Check the activator switch under the rear end and make sure the wires are OK along with the linkage from the body to the switch. Then check the wiring on the compressor.

Re: Saggy rear end.

Saggy rear end, eh? That's never a good thing. I found squats & lunges with weights took care of that problem.

Oh, you meant the car.....

Re: Saggy rear end.

On my 99 I drove it to long with the shocks leaking and it burned up the compressor. Hopefully you have not done the same.
