Exclamation '94 Eldo not running so good

Remove this ad
Ive had my eldo for about 3 months now, and up till last week it has been running excellent. Whenever i slightly press the gas, i start to feel a really bad rumble as it increases speed, but when i floor it it doesnt do it. I changed all my fluids and its still doing this. it doesnt make any distinct noises or anything, its almost like its hesitating or its fuel is restricted. its made the ride very uncomfortable in the city. ideas?

Re: '94 Eldo not running so good

First check the codes:
Press and hold the OFF and warmer (red) buttons together for about 5 seconds untill the instrument cluster lights up. It will then show you the codes. When it gets to "PCM?" you can simply shut the car off to exit diagnostics mode. Have a paper and pencil ready to write down the codes. If it goes too fast, wait till it says "PCM?" and tap the OFF button once for it to repeat them. When you're done post them up here and someone will help you.

Also How many miles are on it and when was the last time the spark plugs and wires have been changed?

Re: '94 Eldo not running so good

Spark plug wires usually go at around 80k miles, but given that they are 13 years old 70k is about right.

But still you should check the codes to make sure there isn't soemthing else that can cause this.

Re: '94 Eldo not running so good

Plugs and wires are my guess. Stick with A/C Delco. Also see my "Stutter, Engine or Trans?" post. Yours sounds similar.
