Just got myself an Eldorado.

Its actually my second, the first being a 1970 and this being a 94 Touring coupe.











I paid 1800 for it, its got about 130k..paid too much? Its also got some minor flaws Im trying to figure out how to fix, such as the sunroof continuing to run after its opened all the way so it makes a horrible clicking/grinding noise. It will also stop halfway and continue when you reclick the switch.. I know nothing about these newer Eldos and Im only 18 Any ideas?

My GOD man... that front passenger seat looks BRAND NEW. Id say you did ok for 1800 bucks assuming all the mechanicals are in order.

This is another quirk Ive noticed when starting it up, any ideas on it as well?

What youll want to do now (I noticed the SES light is on) is pull the codes from the car by holding the OFF and Passenger WARMER buttons on the Climate Control simultaneously, then write down the codes as they appear on the screen. If its running rich, then the cause will hopefully be pinpointed to a bad sensor etc. and this will show up here.

The ride control issue is very common. Lookup "service ride control" on the Search, youll find mounds of archives on it. The shocks are probably worn or broken.

When you get your codes post them here and we can decode them for you, or you can search for Cadillac CODES.

Also, this would be a good time to start regular coolant changes as that year was a pre-Dexcool year and the coolant MUST MUST MUST be changed on a 2 year rotation to avoid headgasket problems which are very common on these cars.

The P132 code may explain your rich running symptoms and is the cause of your SES light. The rest (all of the S codes) are related to your suspension and stability control. This is the primary reason your getting the SERVICE RIDE CONTROL message when you start the car.

Good deal Thanks a ton. I noticed one thing when replacing the serpentine belt today, when you start the car up it spits out about a 6in puddle of oil then stops and will not drip a thing until the next time you let it set and start it up.
