I have the basic (non bose) option. However it has a PTY button, a Source button and in the consol is a wiring harness probably for a CD changer. I don't want onstar.
I would like to have satellite radio and an ipod connection. I have checked with several local shops and they all tell me the only way to get satellite is from a Cadillac dealership or to put in an aftermarket radio or kit.
I'm willing to put in an after market if it looks professional and not an eyesore like some aftermarkets I've seen.
Can anyone direct me to any solutions?
Thanks........Bill |

Short of that, your best bet will be an FM Modulated XM Radio solution. I dont like FM modulators of any kind due to the decrease in sound quality, but if you want the cleanest look possible, this is gonna be the way to go.

Ive sold SO many of the new Sirius and XM its nuts
But recently the FCC killed the units signal strength
Picture this
Im in my STS listening to Stern and Susie soccer mom pulls up in her mini van full of kids
My signals so strong it over takes her radio and now shes listening to Stern tell some porn star how much hed enjoy a BJ.
See why there were MANY complaints
So FCC made a ruling cutting the signal strength of the units
To get around that XM and Siruis now make a FM direct adapter which plugs inline with your cars radio antenna at the back of the radio, then connects to your Siruis or XM unit.
When you power on your XM or Sirius even if your listening to a strong FM station you wont hear a WORD of that station just CLOSE (i strongly put emhasis on CLOSE) cd quality. The short comings of this over a true AUX, RCA, or 3.5 MM direct connect will be in volume. |

Ive heard alot of direct FM solutions and the thing that always bugged me about them was they lost some of the very high frequency sounds. Not to say you dont lose some with tape, but I am perfectly satisfied with tape quality, its really very very good. In fact, if my Navigator HAD a cassette deck, Id use that over the noisy AUX inputs on the DVD player. And in my Sevilles? Forget it, the tape quality was EXCELLENT. |
