Onboard Computer Reset to Factory Settings

Remove this ad
95 SLS - Does anyone know how to reset the onboard computer back to all factory settings?

I know how to clear the codes but I suspect something else has been changed and would like all settings to go back to day 1 out of the factory.

Thanks,
Shaun

Re: Onboard Computer Reset to Factory Settings

i highly doubt anythings been changed as theres no way too without putting a new chip into it....
reflashing the pcm chip is the only way to reset it, but again i doubt its changed....

Re: Onboard Computer Reset to Factory Settings

I have been having the p076 "hard shift" problem and took it to a transmission shop to check it out. They wanted to rebuild the whole tranny for anywhere from 2,000 to 3,500 bucks and could not give me a firm quote.

Anyway, right when i left there i noticed my tranny now slips or hesitates to switch to the next gear. I never did this before and i was thinking they may have changed a shift paramater or something on me. They had their computer hooked up and it has never slipped/hesitated until the moment i left their shop.

This is why i want to reset everything back to factory settings.

Thanks,
Shaun

Re: Onboard Computer Reset to Factory Settings

nope
you have a tranny problem
reseting the computer will have NOTHING to do with it
